1. 行動規範 Code of Conduct
基礎有機化学討論会は、ジェンダー、性自認やその表現、年齢、性的指向、障害、外見、人種、民族、信仰やその有無、そして技術の選択に関係なく、誰もがハラスメントのない場を提供する包括的な会議である。私たちは、どのような形であれ、参加者への差別やハラスメントを一切容認しない（以下に差別とハラスメントの定義を示す）。性差別、人種差別、排他的な発現やジョークなどのハラスメントは不適切である。性的な言葉や画像、また性別、性的指向、障害、外見、人種、信仰に関連する不適切な発言は認めない。
Symposium on Physical Organic Chemistry is an inclusive Conference that is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment of participants in any form (definitions provided below). Harassment including sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes are inappropriate. Sexual language and imagery, along with inappropriate comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race or religion are also unwelcomed.
本討論会への参加は、この行動規範を遵守することに同意したものとみなす。以下のガイドラインに従うこと：
Attendance at a Symposium on Physical Organic Chemistry implies consent to abide by this code of conduct. Explicitly, please follow these guidelines:
Behave professionally.
All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate.
Be kind to others. Critiques of science are appropriate, but do not insult or put down other attendees.
Participants who are asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately.
2. 本方針に違反した場合の対応手順 Protocol for dealing with violations of this policy
本方針に対する違反を発見した参加者は、会議の現地実行委員長または基礎有機化学会理事会のメンバーに秘密裏に報告すること。報告内容は、相談者や関係者を守るために必要最低限の範囲で現地実行委員および基礎有機化学会理事間にて共有されるが、報告者の同意なく広く公開されることは無い。
Any participant who wishes to report a violation of this policy is asked to speak, in confidence, to this meeting’s local organizers (LOC) or any member of the Advisory Board Members of the Society of Physical Organic Chemistry, Japan (JPOC). The content of the report will be shared among the LOC and the Advisory Board Members of JPOC to the minimum extent necessary to protect the consultants and other concerned parties but will not be disclosed without the consent of the person making the report.
違反の性質と対応に基づいて、現地実行委員長は基礎有機化学会理事会と連携して適切な措置を決定する。これらのルールを違反した会議の代表者は、現地実行委員長の裁量により、返金なしで制裁を受けたり会議から追放されたりすることがある。本規定に違反したとみなされる場合、その事実について基礎有機化学会内で記録が残される。
Based on the nature of the violation and the response, the local organizer, in concert with the JPOC Advisory Board, will decide upon appropriate actions. Conference delegates violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers. Where a violation of the policy is deemed to have occurred, a record will also be kept to that effect within JPOC.
3. 写真・ビデオ撮影 Photography & Video
参加者は、他の参加者のプライバシーを尊重し、許可なく録音や写真撮影、または他の参加者との直接的または間接的なやりとりや電子メッセージの録画を行わないこと。参加者は、発表者から事前に明示的な同意が得られない限り、本学会で発表された科学的資料の写真や動画を撮影することを禁ずる。
Participants are required to respect the privacy of other participants and refrain from any unauthorized or unwelcomed recording or photography, including the recording of any direct or indirect interactions or electronic messaging with other meeting delegates. Participants are not allowed to take photos or videos of scientific material shown unless express prior consent by the presenter has been confirmed.
4. 差別およびハラスメントの定義 Definitions
差別とは、ある個人または集団のいずれかを、他の人々への接し方とは異なる方法で扱う行為をいう。これには、民族、人種、宗教、性別、国籍の出自、年齢、配偶者の有無、性的指向、性自認、妊娠、介護責任、社会・経済的地位、心身の健康状態または障害、国籍などが含まれるが、これらのみに限定されるものではない。
Discrimination is the act of treating either a person or a group of people differently from the way in which you treat other people on the basis of protected characteristics. These include (but are not limited to) ethnicity, race, religion, gender, national extraction, age, relationship status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, carer responsibilities, socio-economic status, mental and physical health or disability, or nationality.
ハラスメントとは、ハラスメントを受けた人が不快感、屈辱感、または脅迫感を覚えることが予測される行為を指す。このような行為には、攻撃的または無礼な言葉遣いや書面でのコメント、いじめ、蔑称や否定的なステレオタイプ化、脅迫的、威圧的、敵対的な行為、性的な強要、講演やその他のイベントの持続的な妨害、特定の人種グループを侮辱したり卑下したりするようなジョークの言及、性的に不快な画像やスクリーンセーバーの表示や流布が含まれるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
Harassment is any behaviour where a reasonable person would have anticipated the possibility that the person harassed would feel offended, humiliated or intimidated. This conduct may include, but is not limited to: offensive or disrespectful verbal or written comments; bullying; slurs or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating or hostile acts; coercion of a sexual nature; sustained disruption of talks, or other events; telling denigrating jokes or insulting jokes about a given racial group; displaying or circulating sexually denigrating images or screensavers.

この行動規範は、 20th International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds (ISNA-20) のために作成されたものを一部改変し、これを日本語に翻訳したものである。ISNA-20 の行動規範は、「ロンドン行動規範」に基づいている。これは、2015年7月にロンドンで開催された会議 Accurate Astrophysics. Correct Cosmology のために作成されたものである。ロンドン行動規範は、Software Carpentry の文書から Andrew Pontzen と Hiranya Peiris が許可を得て改変したもので、PyCon と Geek Feminism によるオリジナルのクリエイティブ・コモンズの文書から派生したものである。再利用のために CC-Zero ライセンスで公開されている。
This code of conduct is a partial adaptation and translation into Japanese of the one prepared for the 20th International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds (ISNA-20). The ISNA-20 Code of Conduct is based on the “London Code of Conduct”, as originally designed for the conference “Accurate Astrophysics. Correct Cosmology”, held in London in July 2015. The London Code was adapted with permission by Andrew Pontzen and Hiranya Peiris from a document by Software Carpentry, which itself derives from original Creative Commons documents by PyCon and Geek Feminism. It is released under a CC-Zero license for reuse.
